 About The Book!

book cover

Read my book!
Every now and then an animal comes along who challenges all our human beliefs and intellectual knowledge about both a breed in specific and animals in general. Pipsqueak! the Budgie (a.k.a. parakeet) is one such animal! Pipsqueak! has an English vocabulary of over 800 words which he combines into sentences spoken correctly in context. What started out as "mimicry" has evolved into true, intelligent learning!

In this amazing, delightful, and thoroughly enjoyable book, faithfully and skillfully scribed by his loving human Cheri, you'll read Pipsqueak!'s story, including how he almost got his human fired, what happened when he got very sick, and his journey from store-bought bird to conversational companion. You won't want to put it down!
Testimonials

"This enchanting book about a parakeet and his human demonstrates the breadth and depth of communication possible when two souls lovingly align. Pipsqueak!'s intelligence will amaze you, his personality will charm you, and his sense of humor will delight you! Read and enjoy this wonderful book!"

Dr. Elizabeth Severino, internationally-renowned animal communicator, workshop leader, and author of The Animals' Viewpoint.

"A smart, funny, and engaging exploration of the world according to one of its most insightful citizens, Pipsqueak! This avian ambassador of peace and love will open your eyes to the miracles of creation that human beings only rarely recognize and appreciate."

Cheri - GREAT BOOK !!!!!!! I enjoyed reading about Pipsqueak on my flight out to Kansas City last week. Especially enjoyed the part about Pipsqueak biting the boss. The use of detail and emotion really keeps the reader engaged - terrific job in describing the strong relationships/bonds between the main characters in the book - Pipsqueak, you, Murph, Nicki grandmom, and Ditto. I did not know much about budgies before, but I learned quite a bit - a great educational spin to a fun, heartwarming story. Great advice to current and future budgie parents "You do not train a budgie, you teach it."

You should be EXTREMELY proud …

Our club would like to thank Pipsqueak!, Cheri and, of course, our participants for a wonderful Workshop today. Pipsqueak! is a delight and Cheri is a vibrant personality with much knowledge of budgies. Already we have received positive feedback from the participants.

"Dear Cheri, Pipsqueak and your Mom,
I've only been home for a short time, played with Bubba for a while, but I just wanted you to know that I enjoyed your workshop sooooooo much!! My baby is actually speaking to me now - Hey, wanna kiss me? I love you mommy. I can't wait to read your book!!

Thanks again for all your interesting info."

For those people who missed the Workshop, please see Pipsqueak! and Cheri's website where you can purchase the book and CD. If you read one book about budgies, this should be it. It is highly recommended!

"My Name is Pipsqueak! What's Your Name?" Thank you again Pipsqueak! and Cheri.

I received Pipsqueak's book a couple days ago and read it, cover-to-cover…In fact, I couldn't put it down! It is great…..Fantastic job, Pipsqueak and Cheri!

Hi Pipsqueak, Cheri, Murph & All!We loved it! Actually received it a few days ago and read it to Louie that evening. Been a little busy with that work thing lately.... 2 pictures are in his photo files - one as I am reading it to him and another as I am watching his reaction. Louie absolutely loves hearing from Pipsqueak in whatever way he can. Rather makes you wonder how interconnected these guys really are when they haven't heard from one another in awhile. The proof is in the pictures. Consider it an endorsement for the book coming from a fellow Budgie. 2 Claws Up

I sure hope you tell him that I liked it, too! I stayed up too late one night just to finish it, in
fact. I haven't read it to Ruth and Bo yet, but they enjoyed the CD. I wish I could read their minds better!I simply loved reading about life from Pipsqueak!'s point of view. What a smart little guy, and what a
character!

I am enjoying the book. My daughter started reading it and skipped ahead and told me "you have to read chapter 8!". I'm looking forward to reading chapter 8!--

I got your package today! …The book is really good! I have been reading it off and on all day. I love Chapter 6!... You did a great job, I already have 2 people who want to read it when I'm done. I told them to buy their own copy lol The one girl has a parakeet and can't get it to talk. I told her you have tips in there. If you need any testimonials for your website let me know, I would be happy to write one up….Your personality really comes through and it's a fun read. Again, great job, you should be proud!

Hi Pipsqueak, Murphy and Cheri. I enjoyed reading Pipsqueak's book. What a pleasure.

I have four little pet birds; 2 parrotlets, 1 lineolated parakeet and 1 cockatiel. They all talk a little. I simply love little birds... I'll have to read Pipsqueak's book to them.

Thanks for writing such a pleasurable book…

Dear Pipsqueak,

Avian Greetings!

Indeed your "celebrity" status has generated respect/appreciation for Budgies as well as focusing awareness of their potential, emphasizing rapport, intelligence and empathy! Your book and humor are Excellence Extraordinaire!

I hope the chapters on general care and management will benefit birds everywhere (and of all species), improving the lives of all caged birds. It was a pleasure to read your story: I will be promoting your superlative narrative henceforth.

You have demonstrated the advantages of smaller birds versus the larger parrots as not everyone has the extra space available and yet we can still have perfection personified in a petite companion...

An admirer from afar,

Barbara Thompson
